“Eden,” a non-profit organization combating human trafficking, was founded in Myanmar in 2014, and which now expanding its programs in Southeast Asia nations. Its programs aim to reduce vulnerability to trafficking and raise awareness of trafficking trends while simultaneously working to rescue and restore victims.
By the time Eden’s founder, Lisa, was living in Asia, she began meeting women from all over the continent who had been trafficked into forced marriages. After doing research, spending time in red light districts, and talking together, she slowly began to form relationships with those in the commercial sex industry. Lisa heard the heartbreaking stories of exploited women and was moved to action by their suffering.
