As an ardent admirer of craftsmanship, I’ve dedicated the past two decades immersing myself in the world of textiles and culinary arts. My passion for fabrics ignited a journey of discovery, leading me across the northern regions of Thailand to learn the intricate techniques of weaving, dyeing, and various handicrafts from diverse ethnic groups.

Armed with this profound knowledge, I’ve dedicated myself to sharing my expertise with others, becoming a contributor to textile product development initiatives across government, local and private sectors. My journey has also taken me beyond Thailand’s borders, fostering cultural exchange and enriching my understanding of global craftsmanship practices.

Present, I stand as the owner of Cotton Farm Ltd., Through Cotton Farm, I produce and distribute exquisite artisanal products, while also guiding others through the art of dyeing using diverse techniques.

လက်မှုပညာကို မြတ်နိုးတန်ဖိုးထားသူတစ်ယောက်အနေနဲ့ အထည်အလိပ်နဲ့ ချက်ပြုတ်နည်းတွေကို လွန်ခဲ့တဲ့ အနှစ်နှစ်ဆယ်လောက်ထဲက စူးစမ်းလေ့လာခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အထည်တွေကို နှစ်သက်တဲ့စိတ်က ကွန်မကို စူးစမ်းရှာဖွေမှုခရီးကို အစပျိုးပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ထိုင်းမြောက်ပိုင်းဒေသတွေဆီကို သွား‌တဲ့ ခရီးတစ်ခုက စတင်ခဲ့ပြီး တိုင်းရင်းသားလူမျိုးစုအမျိုးမျိုးရဲ့ အထည်ရက်လုပ်ခြင်း၊ ဆေးဆိုးခြင်းနဲ့ ကွဲပြားတဲ့ လက်မှုပညာတွေကို အသေးစိတ်လေ့လာခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ကျွန်မ အခုလိုလေ့လာသိရှိခဲ့တဲ့ အသိပညာတွေနဲ့ ကျွမ်းကျင်မှုတွေကို အခြားသူများအား မျှဝေဖို့ ရည်မှန်းထားပြီး၊ အစိုးရ၊ ဒေသခံလူထုနဲ့ ပုဂ္ဂလိကကဏ္ဍအားဖြင့် အထည်အလိပ်ထုတ်ကုန် တိုးတက်ရေးအတွက် ပါဝင်ကူညီနေပါတယ်။ ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံနယ်နမိတ်ကိုကျော်လွန်ပြီး ယဉ်ကျေးမှုဖလှယ်ခြင်းကို တိုးမြှင့်လုပ်ဆောင်ခဲ့ခြင်းက ကျွန်မအတွက်ကမ္ဘာ့အရပ်ရပ်ရှိ လက်မှုပညာအ‌လေ့အထတို့ကို ပိုမိုပြည့်စုံစွာ နားလည်စေခဲ့ပါတယ်။

With a background in architecture spanning three decades, my professional life revolves around designing buildings, creating captivating interiors, and embodying the role of a stylist. My passion for architecture has led me on countless journeys across the globe, immersing myself in the grandeur of architectural masterpieces and drawing inspiration from the beauty of man-made creations.

Beyond the realm of architecture, I am avid enthusiast of handcrafted artistry. The world of crafts has captivated me with its boundless creativity and endless possibilities. From crafting intricate dolls and vibrant textiles to intricate embroidery and designing stylish bags and garments, I find immense joy in breathing life into discarded materials and transforming them into works of art.

My passion for architecture and craftsmanship is intertwined with a deep respect for the environment. ကျွန်မက ဗိသုကာနယ်ပယ်မှာ အဆောက်အဦများကို ဒီဇိုင်းဆွဲခြင်း၊ အတွင်းပိုင်းဒီဇိုင်းများ ဖန်တီးခြင်းနှင့် ပရော့ဂျက်တခုလုံးပုံပေါ်လာအောင် အစအဆုံး ဖန်တီးခြင်းတို့ကို လုပ်ကိုင်လာတာ နှစ်သုံးဆယ်ကျော်ရှိနေပါပြီ။ ဗိသုကာပညာကိုချစ်မြတ်နိုးတဲ့စိတ်က ကမ္ဘာ့နေရာအများအပြားကို အခေါက်ပေါင်းများစွာ ခရီးဆန့်သွားရောက်စေခဲ့ပြီး၊ အံ့သြဖွယ်ဗိသုကာလက်ရာများနှင့် လူသား‌တွေရဲ့ဖန်တီးမှုအလှများမှာ ကျွန်မကိုယ်တိုင် စီးမျောခံစားရင်း ကျွန်မရဲ့ဖန်တီးမှုတွေအတွက် စိတ်ကူးသစ်များကိုလည်း ရရှိခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ကျွန်မက ဗိသုကာပညာအပြင် လက်လုပ်အနုပညာကို စိတ်ပါဝင်စားသူတဦးလည်းဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ လက်မှုပညာရဲ့ အကန့်အသတ်မရှိ အဆုံးအစမဲ့ ဖန်တီးနိုင်ခြင်းက ကျွန်မကို လက်မှုပညာအပေါ် နှစ်သက်စွဲလမ်းရတဲ့ အကြောင်းအရင်းတခုဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မက အနုစိတ်ဖန်တီးရတဲ့ လက်ဖြစ်အရုပ်များ၊ ရောင်စုံအထည်အလိပ်များမှ လှပတဲ့ချည်ပန်းထိုးများ၊ အိတ်များနှင့်အဝတ်အစားများကို ဖန်တီးခြင်းတို့ကနေ ထွက်ရှိလာတဲ့ အသုံးပြုပြီးပစ္စည်းဟောင်းတွေကို အနုပညာပစ္စည်းများအဖြစ် ပြောင်းလဲဖန်တီးရတာကို အင်မတန် နှစ်သက်ခုံမင်ပါတယ်။

ကျွန်မရဲ့ ဗိသုကာပညာနဲ့ လက်မှုပညာကို မြတ်နိုးတာက ကျွန်မရဲ့ ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ကို လေးစားမှုနဲ့အတူ ထပ်တူကျပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မအနေနဲ့ ရေရှည်တည်တံ့တဲ့ နည်းလမ်းများကို အသုံးပြုခြင်း၊ ပစ္စည်းများ ပြန်လည်အသုံးပြုခြင်းနှင့် သဘာဝကို ထိခိုက်မှုလျှော့ချခြင်းတို့ကို သတိပြုဆောင်ရွက်ပါတယ်။ ဒီလိုလုပ်‌ဆောင်ခြင်းအားဖြင့် လှပတဲ့ဖန်တီးမှုများသာမက ကမ္ဘာမြေအတွက် မျှတ‌ကောင်းမွန်တဲ့ ဖန်တီးမှုအနုပညာကို ဆောင်ကြဉ်းပေးနိုင်မှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

Colors from the Earth

I am a young artist and environmental and social justice advocate based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Through my art, I aim to raise awareness about the social and environmental impacts of our actions and inspire individuals to adopt more sustainable lifestyles. My journey has taken me across Chiang Mai, where I have witnessed the plight of smallholder farmers trapped in a cycle of debt and environmental degradation. The mountains and forests that once defined my homeland are being rapidly replaced by vast expanses of cornfields, while urban dwellers remain oblivious to the impending ecological catastrophe.

Driven by a deep sense of urgency, I have explored various avenues to address these issues, including conducting research, publishing academic articles, pursuing legal action, and making personal lifestyle changes. However, the challenges and pressures of this work often took a toll on my well-being. It was then that I discovered the power of art as a transformative tool, capable of converting complex and challenging topics into engaging and inspiring experiences.

Continuing my advocacy for social and environmental justice, I began incorporating soil and rocks collected from the areas I visit into my artistic process. These natural materials serve as tangible reminders of the interconnectedness of our lives and the delicate balance of explore and understand the environmental and social crises we face, fostering a sense of collective responsibility and inspiring action.

ကျွန်တော်က ထိုင်းနိုင်ငံ ချင်းမိုင်မြို့ အခြေစိုက် သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင်နှင့် လူမှုအကျိုးပြုဆောင်ရွက်မှုများကို လုပ်ကိုင်နေတဲ့ လူငယ်အနုပညာရှင်တဦးဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ လူသားတွေရဲ့ လုပ်ရပ်ကြောင့် လူမှုဘဝနှင့် သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင်အပေါ် သက်ရောက်နိုင်မှုတွေနဲ့ လူတဦးချင်းစီမှစတင်ပြီး ရေရှည်တည်တံ့တဲ့ လူနေမှုပုံစံတွေ ပေါ်ပေါက်ကျင့်သုံးလာဖို့ ကျွန်တော့်ရဲ့ အနုပညာကနေတဆင့် အသိပေးလှုံ့ဆော်နိုင်ရန် ရည်ရွယ်လုပ်‌ဆောင်‌နေပါတယ်။ ကျွန်တော့်ရဲ့ ချင်မိုင်ခရီးစဉ်တလျောက် အကြွေးသံသရာနဲ့ သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ယိုယွင်းမှုသံသရာထဲမှာ ပိတ်မိနေတဲ့ တောင်သူလယ်သမားငယ်တွေရဲ့ဒုက္ခကို ကိုယ်တိုင်တွေ့မြင်ခံစားခဲ့ရပါတယ်။ မြို့ပြနေသူများရဲ့ ဂေဟစနစ်ပျက်သုန်းမှုအန္တရယ်ကို သတိမမူပဲ အမှုမဲ့အမှတ်မဲ့ လုပ်ဆောင်နေစဉ်မှာ ကျွန်တော်ရဲ့မွေးရပ်မြေက တောတောင်တွေနဲ့ သစ်တောတွေနေရာမှာ စိုက်ခင်းကျယ်ကြီးတွေက အစားထိုးနေရာယူနေပါပြီ။

အားချင်းဆိုသလို အလျင်အမြန်ဆောင်ရွက်ဖို့လိုနေပြီဆိုတဲ့ အသိစိတ်နဲ့အတူ နေရာဒေသအမျိုးမျိုးကို ခြေဆန့်ကာ သုတေသနပြုလုပ်ခြင်း၊ ပညာရပ်ဆိုင်ရာဆောင်းပါးများထုတ်ဝေခြင်း၊ ဥပဒေကြောင်းအရ‌ဆွေးနွေးရှင်းပြခြင်းနှင့် တကိုယ်စာလူနေမှုပုံစံပြောင်းလဲခြင်းအပါအဝင် အခုကြုံတွေ့နေရတဲ့ပြဿနာတွေကို ထောက်ပြအသိပေးနိုင်ရန် ဆောင်ရွက်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ သို့သော်လည်း ဒီလိုလုပ်ကိုင်ရာမှာ ရင်ဆိုင်ရတဲ့ အခက်အခဲနဲ့ဖိအားတွေက ကျွန်တော့်ရဲ့ကျန်းမာပျော်ရွှင်တဲ့လူမှုဘဝပုံစံကို တခါတရံမှာ ထိခိုက်မှုတွေ ရှိပါတယ်။ အဲ့လိုအချိန်မှာပဲ ရှုပ်ထွေးပြီး ခက်ခဲတဲ့ ကိစ္စရပ်တွေကို အနုပညာစွမ်းအားနဲ့ ပြောင်းလဲဖြေရှင်းနိုင်တယ်ဆိုတာကို တွေ့ရှိခဲ့ရပါတယ်။

လူ‌နေမှုပုံစံနှင့် သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင် မျှတမှုအတွက် ဆက်လက်ဆောင်ရွက်ရာမှာ ကျွန်တော်သွားရောက်ခဲ့တဲ့ နေရာဒေသတွေက‌နေ စုဆောင်းခဲ့တဲ့ မြေသား၊ ကျောက်တုံးတွေ ပေါင်းစပ်မှုကို စတင်လုပ်ဆောင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ သူတို့ဟာ ကျွန်‌တော်တို့အသက်ရှင်နေထိုင်မှုနှင့် အပြန်အလှန်သက်ရောက်မှုရှိနေပြီး၊ ကျွန်တော်တို့ရင်ဆိုင်ကြုံတွေ့နေရတဲ့ သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင်နှင့် လူမှုဘဝ အကြပ်အတည်းများကို ထိုးထွင်းနားလည်‌စေတဲ့ ထင်သာမြင်သာရှိတဲ့ သတိပေးချက်တွေဖြစ်ပြီး စုပေါင်းတာဝန်ယူမှု၊ လှုံ့‌ဆော်မှုတွေကို မြှင့်တင်‌ပေးပါတယ်။

Aung Soe Myint, a freelance architect who is always trying to create objects to infill space in the building that he designed in collaboration with the artists and artisans.

He practiced designing infills by using things such as raw earth, stone, wood, metal, glass, textile, mulberry paper and bamboo.

He loves to layout his buildings to be integrated with nature, it means “inviting new upcoming buildings into nature”. But he INVITED NATURE TO BE A PART OF THE NEW BUILDING in his design in Shan State, Myanmar. He also used Salvaged Architectural and Structural Materials in some of his projects.

He is still learning and loves to share what he learnt from his experience to younger generations. He is currently living in Yangon.

သူ့ရဲ့ အဆောက်အဦများကို သဘာဝနှင့်ပေါင်းစပ်ဖန်တီးရတာကို နှစ်သက်သူဖြစ်ပြီး၊ သဘာဝနှင့် နီးစပ်နဲ့ အဆောက်အဦသစ်များကို လက်ကမ်းကြိုသူတဦးဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်မှာရှိတဲ့ သူ၏ ဒီဇိုင်းများမှာ သဘာဝတရားကို မရှိမဖြစ်အစိတ်အပိုင်းတစ်ခုအဖြစ် ထည့်သွင်းဖန်တီးထားပါတယ်။ ဒါ့အပြင် သူ့ရဲ့ ပရောဂျက်အချို့မှာ သူရဲ့စုဆောင်းသိမ်းဆည်းထားတဲ့ ဗိသုကာနှင့် အဆောက်အဦဆိုင်ရာ ပစ္စည်းများကို အသုံးပြုဖန်တီးခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ဦးအောင်စိုးမြင့်သည် လေ့လာသင်ယူခြင်းကို စဉ်ဆက်မပြတ် လုပ်ဆောင်နေပြီး၊ သူ့ရဲ့အတွေ့အကြုံများမှ ရရှိလာသော အသိပညာများကို မျိုးဆက်သစ်လူငယ်များအား မျှဝေလျက်ရှိပါတယ်။ လက်ရှိမှာတော့ ရန်ကုန်မြို့တွင် နေထိုင်လျက်ရှိပါတယ်။

Daw Phyu Ei Thein is the co-founder and president of SheCreates, where she oversees the craft gallery. As a skilled textile designer, she also works as a consulting artisan and entrepreneur.

Additionally, she founded Sunflower Natural Dye Textile, a weaving studio located in Nyaung Shwe, Shan State.

She graduated from Kanazawa College of Art in Japan, specializing in weaving and dyeing. Currently, she provides technical guidance to local weavers.

To expand into both local and international markets for traditional Myanmar hand weaving and natural dyeing, she is dedicated to creating craft job opportunities that empower and develop the skills of youth and women.

A passionate advocate for local products and fair trade ethical values, she deeply respects cultural heritage and creativity and is committed to preserving their significance.

ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံ Kanazawa အနုပညာတက္ကသိုလ်မှ ရက်ကန်းနှင့်ဆေးဆိုးပညာ သုတေသနသင်တန်းဆင်းခဲ့ပြီး၊ ပြည်တွင်းရက်ကန်းလုပ်ကိုင်သူများ အဖွဲ့အစည်းများကို နည်းပညာအကြံဉာဏ်များ ပံ့ပိုးနေသူဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

မြန်မာ့ရိုးရာလက်ရက်ကန်းနှင့် သဘာဝဆိုးဆေးပညာကို ပြည်တွင်းပြည်ပဈေးကွက်မှာ ထိုးဖောက်နိုင်ရန် လူငယ်နှင့်အမျိုးသမီးများဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်မှုအတွက် လက်မှုပညာ အလုပ်အကိုင်အခွင့်အလမ်းများရရှိစေရန် ကြိုးပမ်းလျက်ရှိပါတယ်။
