Sunflower is a textile Craft Shop known for its unique designs, producing high-quality products for both domestic and international markets. As a shop specializing in natural dye textiles and crafts, it has built a solid reputation abroad.

When Sunflower Natural Dye Textiles was established in 2006, arising from the Sunflower Art Gallery and Art Classes, Myanmar’s local inlay silk was being exported to Japan.

In 2007, Sunflower Natural Dye Textiles adopted internationally popular chemical reduction techniques aimed at promoting environmental protection. To remain competitive in the traditional handicraft market, the company innovated by creating handwoven fabrics dyed with natural colors.

The products were sold under the brand name “YnP Myanmar Clothes” at the renowned Rakuten Online Shop in Japan, as well as in One Village, One Product shops located in Japanese airports.

Sunflower has organized Myanmar Art & Crafts Exhibitions in galleries across Tokyo and other major cities in Japan, and has participated in the annual Myanmar Festival held in Tokyo.

In April 2013, the exhibition titled “The Art of Textiles & Accessories: Made in Myanmar” was jointly organized by Sunflower Art Gallery and art@apt (NY) at the Lokanat Galleries, the oldest art gallery in Yangon. It was the first time in Myanmar that textiles were exhibited as an exhibition.

In 2014, Sunflower Natural Dye Textiles Studio was established in Southern Shan State, employing three graduates from a weaving program. The following year, in 2015, the Sunflower Natural Dye Textiles & Craft Shop opened in Yangon, alongside an art gallery.

In 2015, Sunflower’s chief textile designer studied abroad in Japan at Kanazawa College of Art, where she focused on weaving and dyeing techniques.

After that, Sunflower focused on developing vocational education schools with a systematic curriculum designed to foster creativity. As part of an international community program, Sunflower provided quality improvement training and creative workshops for weavers throughout Myanmar.

In this way, she encouraged the trainees to create their own designs in line with the market expansion plan while also providing them with education. Additionally, she consistently worked to introduce their products to the market.

They have been dedicated to ensuring that our domestic products are exceptional, focusing on everything from the cultivation of cotton raw materials to the production of finished goods. They continuously strive to achieve the highest quality in our products.

In 2020, the weaving factory in Shan State was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sunflower Art Gallery & Art Classes ကနေတဆင့် ပေါက်ဖွားလာတဲ့ Sunflower Natural Dye Textiles ကို ၂၀၀၆ ခုနှစ်တွင် စတင်တည်ထောင်ခဲ့စဉ်က မြန်မာ့ပြည်တွင်းဖြစ် အင်းလေးပိုးထည်များကို ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံသို့ တင်ပို့ရောင်းချခဲ့တာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

၂၀၀၇ ခုနှစ်တွင် နိုင်ငံတကာမှာ ခေတ်စားလာတဲ့ ဓာတုလျှော့ချရေး၊ သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ထိန်းသိမ်း‌ရေး၊ ရိုးရာလက်မှုလုပ်ငန်းတွေ မတိမ်ကောရေး ရေစီးကြောင်းပေါ် စီးမျောနိုင်ဖို့ သဘာဝဆိုးဆေး လက်ရက်ကန်းထည်တွေ ပြောင်းလဲဖန်တီးခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံမှာ နာမည်ကြီးတဲ့ Rakuten Online Shop မှာ “YNP Myanmar Clothes” brand name နဲ့ ရောင်းချခဲ့သလို ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံရဲ့ လေဆိပ်တွေမှာ ဖွင့်လှစ်ခဲ့တဲ့ One Village, One Product Shop တွေမှာ Made In Myanmar ထုတ်ကုန်အနေနဲ့ ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံရဲ့ JETRO မှ ခွင့်ပြုခဲ့တဲ့အတွက် တင်ရောင်းခွင့်ရခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံ တိုကျိုမြို့နဲ့ အခြားမြို့ကြီးတွေမှာရှိတဲ့ Gallery တွေမှာ Myanmar Art & Crafts Exhibition တွေ ကျင်းပခဲ့သလို တိုကျိုမြို့မှာနှစ်စဉ်ကျင်းပခဲ့တဲ့ မြန်မာပွဲတော်မှာလည်း ပါဝင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

၂၀၁၃ ခုနှစ် ဧပြီလတွင် ရန်ကုန်မြို့ရဲ့ ရှေးအကျဆုံးပန်းချီပြခန်းဖြစ်တဲ့ လောကနတ် ပန်းချီပြခန်းမှာ “The Art of Textiles & Accessories, Made In Myanmar” ပြပွဲကို Sunflower Art Gallery နဲ့ art@apt.(NY) တို့ ပူးတွဲစီစဉ်ကျင်းပခဲ့ပြီး လောကနတ်ပြခန်းရဲ့ လူဝင်အများဆုံးပြပွဲတွေ ထဲက တခုအဖြစ် မှတ်တမ်းတခု ဖြစ်ခဲ့တယ်။ မြန်မာပြည်အနေနဲ့ အထည်အလိပ်ကို အနုပညာပြပွဲအဖြစ် ပထမဦးဆုံးအကြိမ် ခင်းကျင်းပြသတဲ့ ပွဲတခုလဲ ဖြစ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

၂၀၁၄ ခုနှစ်တွင် Sunflower Natural Dye Textiles Studio ကို ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်တောင်ပိုင်းမှာ ရက်ကန်းကျောင်းဆင်း ၃ ဦးနဲ့အတူ တည်ထောင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ၂၀၁၅ ခုနှစ်တွင် Sunflower Natural Dye Textiles & Craft shop ကို Art Gallery နဲ့အတူတူ ရန်ကုန်မြို့မှာ ဖွင့်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

၂၀၁၅ ခုနှစ်မှာ Sunflower ရဲ့ ပင်တိုင် Textile Designer ဟာ ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံ၊ Kanazawa College of Art အနုပညာတက္ကသိုလ်မှာ အထည်အလိပ်၊ ရက်ကန်းနှင့် ဆိုးဆေးနည်းပညာတွေကို သွားရောက်လေ့လာခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ထို့နောက် တီထွင်ဖန်တီးမှုကို အားပေးသော သင်ရိုးညွှန်းတမ်းနဲ့ စနစ်တကျ သင်ကြားပေးနိုင်မယ့် သက်မွေးပညာသင်ကျောင်းတွေ ဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်လာအောင် အားပေးရင်း မြန်မာပြည်ဒေသအနှံ့မှာရှိတဲ့ ရက်ကန်းပညာရှင်တွေအတွက် အရည်အသွေးမြှင့်သင်တန်း၊ တီထွင်ဖန်တီးမှုသင်တန်းတွေကို နိုင်ငံတကာအဖွဲ့အစည်းများရဲ့ အစီအစဉ်နဲ့ Sunflower မှ ပို့ချပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။

အဲဒီလိုနဲ့ ပညာပေးရင်း ဈေးကွက်ချဲ့ထွင်ဆိုတဲ့ အစီအစဉ်အတိုင်း သင်တန်းသူတွေကို ကိုယ်ပိုင်ဒီဇိုင်းထုတ်လုပ်နိုင်အောင် တွန်းအားပေးပြီး ထုတ်လုပ်ထားသည်များကို ဈေးကွက်နှင့် မိတ်ဆက်ပေးခြင်းအလုပ်ကို စဉ်ဆက်မပြတ်လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ပြည်တွင်းထုတ်ကုန်ပီသစေဖို့ ဝါကုန်ကြမ်းစိုက်ပျိုးရေးမှအစ ကုန်ချောထည်ထွက်သည်အထိ အဆင်ဆင့်တွင် အားထုတ်လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ထုတ်ကုန်တွေကို အရည်အသွေးအကောင်းဆုံးဖြစ်အောင် အမြဲကြိုးစားလျက်ရှိပါတယ်။

၂၀၂၀ မှာ ကိုဗစ်ရောဂါအခြေအနေကြောင့် ရှမ်းပြည်နယ်မှ ရက်ကန်းရုံကို ပိတ်ခဲ့ရပါတယ်။
