Pochi is a small, grassroots collective of passionate women in Myanmar, bound together by a shared dream – to regenerate and reimagine the ancient Burmese art of hand-loomed silk weaving, and bring it to the world in the form of unique and authentic textiles, fabrics and accessories, which combine a mix of our very own silks grown in Chin state, lotus silk from Shan State, high quality imported silks, and the best of Burmese cottons.
Pochi use natural dyes from local plants, sometimes mixed with chemical dyes, to create exclusive colours that bring a modern, glowing patina to centuries-old Burmese styles without losing the cultural integrity of the ancient designs.
Pochi’s pieces include pure silk creations, as well as weaves of silk & cotton mixed, silk & banana fibre mixed. They are designing individual silk components that can be interwoven as linings or added as special features on textile products.
Pochi is currently producing a small but growing range of products, including shawls, kaftans, hair & fashion accessories, soft furnishings and bolts of fabric.
Pochi holds experimental silk dyeing and loom-design workshops with the participation of local communities, whose involvement they actively solicit and welcome as part of our creative and learning process.
Developing active and supportive communities is a key component of Pochi. As a young, grassroots business, Pochi has a genuine opportunity to develop intimate partnerships with their customers – this is an integral part of their business philosophy. Pochi ကို 2019 ခုနှစ်မှာ စတင်တည်ထောင်ခဲ့ပြီး၊ ရှေးဟောင်းမြန်မာ့လက်ရက်ကန်းပညာကို အသုံးအဆောင်ပစ္စည်းများအသွင်ဖြင့် ကမ္ဘာကို ချပြဖို့ ရည်ရွယ်ချက်တူ အိပ်မက်တူသူ အမျိုးသမီးများ စုပေါင်းလုပ်ကိုင်လျက်ရှိတာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
ချင်းပြည်မှ ထွက်ရှိသော ပိုး၊ ရှမ်းပြည်မှ ထွက်ရှိသော ပိုးကြာစသည် အရည်အသွေးမြင့် ပိုး၊ ချည်များကို ရောစပ်ကာ ထူးခြားဆန်းသစ်သော အထည်အလိပ်များ၊ အသုံးအဆောင်ပစ္စည်းများကို ဖန်တီး ထုတ်လုပ်လျက် ရှိပါတယ်။ ဒေသန္တရပေါက်ပင်များမှ သဘာဝဆိုးဆေးများကို အဓိက အသုံးပြုပြီး၊ ရံဖန်ရံခါ အရောင်ဆန်းများ ရောစပ်လိုသည့်အခါမှသာ ဓာတုဆိုးဆေးနှင့် ရောစပ် အရောင်ဆိုးပြီး ထုတ်လုပ်ပါတယ်။
